Sea Isle 1 is the ideal turfgrass for areas facing limitations or restrictions on fresh water use. With its extremely high tolerance for salt, Sea Isle 1 can tolerate most types of alternative water sources including gray or reclaimed water, recycled wastewater, and even ocean water. This improved seashore paspalum cultivar exhibits a rich dark-green color and beautiful uniform texture. Sea Isle 1 is also drought and wear tolerant, and requires less water and fertilizer than other warm-season grasses.
Color:
- Rich dark-green. Darker than bermudagrass.
TEXTURE
- Medium-fine, similar to hybrid bermudagrass>
PERFORMANCE
- Tolerates high levels of salt in irrigation water and soil.
- Endures extremely high or low pH levels.
- Accepts a wide range of alternate water sources including reclaimed water, recycled wastewater, and sea water.
- Requires less water, fertilizer, and pesticides than other warm-season grasses.
- Highly drought and wear tolerant, similar to bermudagrass.
- Tolerates oxygen-starved, water-logged soils better than bermudagrass.
- Recovers very quickly from injury.
- Handles a wide range of mowing heights.

- Thrives in warm to hot climates USDA zones 7-11>
SHADE TOLERANCE
- Not shade tolerant, best in full sun.
MAINTENANCE
- Low level of maintenance required.
- Fall overseeding may be necessary for winter color.
MOWING
- ½” -2”
- Reel mower preferred.
OPTIONS
- Regular sod: Comes in 16” x 72” rolls with ½” of soil. Each weighs approximately 45 lbs. Great for normal conditions.
- Big-roll sod: is 42” x 105’, allowing large areas to be sodded quickly and efficiently. Great for large sports fields, parks, and cemeteries.
- Thick-cut sod: has up to 2” soil base that provides anchorage for the sod until its roots knit to the subsoil. Ideal for renovating a sports field that needs to be put back in play within a few days.
- Washed Sod has had the soil removed from the roots to help eliminate sod-to-soil incompatibilities and to help the sod knit to the soil faster. Reduces shipping weight.
