Our Blue/Rye mix combines 80% Kentucky bluegrass with 20% perennial ryegrass to create a dense, fine-textured natural turf with exceptional performance and visual appeal. This cool-season mix is specially selected to thrive in the diverse climates of the Southwest, offering a classic dark green color and a lush, carpet-like appearance.

The Kentucky bluegrass component provides excellent drought tolerance and durability, with aggressive rhizome growth for quick recovery, self-repair, and a consistently uniform surface. Perennial ryegrass enhances the mix with rapid germination, fast establishment, and superior disease resistance—making it ideal for renovation projects and areas needing quick coverage.

This mix performs well in both full sun and partial shade and is known for its excellent wear tolerance, making it a favorite for high-traffic areas. It can be mowed as low as ½" and holds up under frequent use, making it suitable for sports fields, golf course tees and fairways, municipal parks, school grounds, and premium residential lawns.

Blue/Rye remains green year-round in most areas with proper maintenance and is an excellent choice for clients seeking a cool-season turf that offers beauty, resilience, and sustainability.
